Global collaboration - US colleagues share their experiences of visiting Sweden
In Mycronic we actively explore and collaborate, we share knowledge and ideas, and we encourage development and personal growth. This time US Field Service Engineers Raj Singh, Emad Mikhail and Sebastien Boussard share their experiences from a recent visit to the Swedish office.

“Arriving in Sweden is a journey in more ways than one. After a 10-plus-hour flight to a new country, what makes the transition smooth is, in our opinion, Mycronic’s greatest strength, collaboration.
Pro tip for newcomers: spend your first week at Scandic Taby. The 8 min walk commute gives you time to adjust to the new time zone while you get into the swing of things. After you feel acclimated, get a hotel and explore the gorgeous and culturally rich city of Stockholm, just be mindful of the commute.
Arriving the first day is intimidating; headquarters is vastly different from customer sites. We were quickly made to feel at home as the Mycronic hosts are incredibly welcoming. The first week, multiple new people came up and introduced themselves, every day! They emphasized to come up to them if we had any questions. One moment stood out: while discussing cultural differences with a teammate, a senior colleague overheard us, joined the conversation, and shared their insights. A simple gesture showed how easy it is to connect across the organization. That openness is more than courtesy; it’s how we work. By tapping into the experience around us, we learn, contribute, and solve problems faster.
We encourage those who have the chance to make the journey to Sweden. The different teams to join provide the opportunity to learn about any system and subsystem. HQ is also the safest place to “mess up”. Mistakes, and the problem solving that is required after them, is where we learn most! In this problem solving we make connections that we can bring back home when we face similar problems on customer sites.
Bottom line: coming to HQ was an illuminating experience. We didn’t just learn more about the machines, we saw how collaboration moves our goals forward, together.
