Career growth at Mycronic Pattern Generators Division:
Peter Henriksson’s journey to Global System ExpertCareers rarely follow a straight line. They grow in steps, in turns, in discoveries and sometimes in circles. At Mycronic, we believe that a fulfilling career is built on exploring new ideas and challenges, continuous learning, and curiosity.
Few stories illustrate this better than the career journey of Peter Henriksson, recently appointed Global System Expert in our Pattern Generators (PG) Division. His story highlights how diverse experiences, long-term skill development, and cross‑functional collaboration can shape a rewarding career at Mycronic.
A Career Built on Curiosity and Innovation
Peter first joined Mycronic in 1996 during a time of strong growth in the display industry, where our laser mask writers were playing a key role in enabling high‑quality CRT shadow mask production. From the very beginning, he worked closely with customer applications, technical problem‑solving, and system development, an intersection that continues to define many engineering careers in the Pattern Generators Division.
A Career Carved Across Disciplines
Peter’s path through the PG Division has never been confined to a single job title. Instead, it has unfolded as a series of explorations:
- guiding customer applications
- leading the Display Application Center
- shaping the System Design group
- searching for new mask writer applications in business development
- driving system architecture for major development projects such as SLX and MMX
Each step provided him with a vantage point of the full system landscape. Each challenge strengthened his ability to see both details and direction. And each transition mirrored something core to Mycronic’s culture: careers grow when curiosity leads the way.
After building deep technical expertise across several roles, Peter explored new opportunities outside Mycronic, working as a consultant and teacher in systems engineering. This external experience later became an asset when he returned to Mycronic in 2016.

Global System Expert: A role built on long-term learning
As of January 1, 2026, Peter took on the role of Global System Expert, a position reserved for individuals with exceptional system-level understanding and the ability to guide technology evolution across the division. In this role, he supports the continuous development of the SLX product platform and contributes to long-term architectural decisions. His new position is not just a personal milestone, it also shows how Mycronic invests in deep expertise and longterm talent development.
"Our best investment is our employees”, says Anna Lidell Calner, Group Manager PG - System, Design, Verification & Technology Center. “Developing experts internally is key to long-term competitive strength, talent retention, and keeping critical knowledge in-house. World-leading technologies require world-leading engineers.”
